Leave Your Dental Surgery to Our Skilled Team
At Bonita Family Dental, we use the latest dental technology to ensure precise and comfortable results. Our technology includes digital X-ray equipment and a 3-D cone beam CT scanner for planning your procedure. We can also use your own blood to create platelet-rich plasma (PRP). This material can be added to your surgery site to help speed up the healing process and make your recovery more comfortable.
We make it easy to have your dental surgery here, without the need to travel to an outside oral surgeon. We offer all these types of oral surgery:
- Tooth Extractions – We’ll numb the area around your tooth and remove it as gently as possible.
- Wisdom Teeth Removal – Your dentist can remove these third molars to preserve your oral health.
- Cosmetic Gum Surgery – Using a laser, we can perform gum reshaping and crown lengthening to balance out your smile.
- Gum Grafts – We’ll take tissue from another area of your mouth and place it where your gums have receded.
- Bone Grafts – Placing a special material where you’ve lost teeth will stimulate the growth of new bone cells to prepare your jaw for dental implants.
- Sinus Lifts – This procedure is a type of bone graft designed to make room for implants on your upper jaw.
- Ridge Augmentation – We’ll build up your jaw ridge either to get it ready for implants or for esthetic purposes.
- Dental Implant Placement – Your dentist can place your implants in-house so you can have your entire implant treatment performed here. Dr. Hegde has successfully placed more than 1,000 implants.

Common Questions About Oral Surgery
When would I need oral surgery?
There are several circumstances that might require oral surgery. If you or your loved one has a badly damaged or diseased tooth, it may need removal. Likewise, wisdom teeth often cause problems as they emerge and need to be extracted. Other procedures like bone grafts, sinus lifts, and ridge augmentations prepare for treatments such as dental implants. Gum grafts will repair receded gums and help them heal properly.
When can I exercise after oral surgery?
For the first 24 hours after oral surgery, you shouldn’t attempt any sort of exercise. Doing too much too soon can cause problems. For example, strenuous exercise could loosen the blood clot on a tooth extraction site and cause a painful dry socket. After the first day, limit your exercise to low-impact activities for a few more days to be on the safe side.
What can I eat after oral surgery?
It’s best to stick to soft foods for a few days following an extraction. Good choices include eggs, pudding, yogurt, and similar foods. Avoid temperature extremes, acidic foods, spicy foods, and sugary and/or acidic beverages. Stick with water, milk, and unsweetened tea. You should also avoid drinking through a straw since it can damage your extraction site.
